The arts have always played an active role in
my growth as an individual. I was always involved in theatre, choir, and fine
arts throughout school. My mentors became my high school art teacher and a
local artist who gave me lessons on a private class basis, both being very
different thinkers and teachers. This allowed me to see both contemporary and
traditional styles of teaching and learn the best from both worlds. This along
with coming from a long lineage of teachers and love of working with others
led to my desire to enter the education profession.
